from a very young age. I recall my obsession and love for the arts beginning with my daily ritual of watching the following:
1) Powerpuff Girls
2) The original English dub of Sailor Moon
3) Mulan
The combination of the three came to and willed me to pick up a pencil and draw my heart out. And I did, everyday, for years to come.Â
I grew up in the outskirts of metro Atlanta. I spent every afternoon hooked on cartoons and anime. Every second of every animated feature I saw moved me to tears. I fell in love with the way lines moved on the screen and the way colors meshed together. To be able to create and illustrate a piece like what I grew up with would be a dream come true.
So dream I did. I kept dreaming, landing myself an academic scholarship to Oglethorpe University to study Studio Art. Familial and financial struggles prevented me from finishing. Despite it all, I sought art as a side hustle, and was given the privilege to work and keep a roof over my head while freelancing here and there.
My art is a culmination of things I've loved over the years. Silly cartoons, magical girls, teal haired robotic singers, and dumb inside jokes. I hope to keep creating, and to one day open a studio for kids like me who just wanted something fun to do for the rest of their lives.
